As we made our way to the west and our of the Loire we made one last brief stop at Langeais. The château was in the heart of the old town and easy to spot. However finding a parking place in amongst the one way streets was a little harder. In fact from the car park we had an excellent view of the turrets on the towers of the château.
As we walked through the streets we came first to the church.
Then the château came into view. Sadly it had scaffolding over part of it.
The front view disguised this ongoing renovation work reasonably well.
As time was short we continued our walk around the town. (We had seen inside enough châteaux.) It was very peaceful indeed.
As we drove out of town we had a good view of the extent of the renovation work from the side.
From there we made our way over the very grand looking bridge and headed south west for the next part of our trip. We had greatly enjoyed the Loire et Cher region of France.
